Deadline: 31.08.2012.We are happy to announce a new season of applications for GWAF (the Green World Art Festival). GWAF’s vision is to promote cross cultural exchange, particularly between East & West, through the development of performance and visual arts projects. The Green World Art & Culture Festival (GWAF) is located in the city of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The festival is an artist-led initiative that is becoming a significant alternative art-space for artists across the world to nurture creative and imaginative art practice; thereby promoting artistic exchange, discourse, and debate. GWAF is led by Jeetin Rangher and Kristian Al-Droubi and administered by the PRERANA Trust. Through our programming we aim to support alternative forms of art; including media art, performance, and video, environmental, cultural, public and community based art. As a new development to our programme this year, we are collaborating with the Grace Exhibition Space from New York to establish new presentation possibilities for participating artists. The Festival provides space for slide lectures, small conferences, installations, performances, screenings and informal gatherings for artists and the alternative art community. We believe in networking and supporting other alternative groups and institutions with similar goals. GWAF provides free accommodation and food for the duration of the programme; however places are limited so to reserve a place, a non-refundable fee of 50 Euros is required. Application: Applications are invited from artists to include an outline of a specific project. It is not essential that artist’s individual projects should be completed during the duration of the Festival, but there will be a GWAF final event at the end of the Festival where artists can showcase their work & ideas. As well as pursuing his/her own project, the incumbent will be expected to interact with the local artist community in Bhubaneswar. Required documents (please send only soft copy in English) * Passport photo * Resume * Information on previous significant artistic projects. * Reasons for applying for the residency and outline of the artistic aims and objective including preferred dates for the residency in 2012 Please send your applications to the e-mail address below.
